Famous for it’s Atlantic swells it has become known as one of the best surfing areas in Europe, and is now a regular stop on the ASP world tour following the success of the Rip Curl Pro Search 2009. Supertubos, Lagide and Baleal are the well known beaches but there are many more within a short drive.

Working with a local surf school we are able to offer excellent surf holidays, lessons for beginners or the more advanced surfer and also surf guiding. In the Peniche area the conditions are virtually guaranteed all year-round with a wave to suit all levels and most wind directions.

Maximum of 4 people per instructor, that way you can get the most out of your time and can expect to learn quickly and safely. For lesson packages of 2 or more days video analysis is included to help improve your surfing.

With our day guiding programme you get to experience the best conditions for the day and expert tips from our professional surf guides as well as going to the lesser known beaches and breaks. With programmes of two or more days video analysis is included. Please note that day guiding is aimed for the intermediate/advanced surfer and is not available to beginners, boards and wetsuits can be included if required.

A large crescent shaped bay ideal for beginners with many peaks along its length, can be busy near Baleal Island and the car parks but a short walk will bring you some solitude.

Reef break, long left hander breaking over a fairly shallow reef. A very manoeuvrable wave with several fast and slow sections. Ideal for intermediate and advance surfers and during the smaller summer swells can be great for beginners too.

Considered by many one of the best waves in Portugal and Europe and sometimes known as the European Pipeline. Fast and hollow this is the place to get barrelled.

Surf boards and bodyboards are provided for lessons and day guiding if needed, but you are free to use your own. New and used boards are available from the many surf stores or direct from one of the local shapers.

Wetsuits are provided for lessons and guiding however you may decide to bring your own. You can get away with a 3/2 for much of the year, but in the winter we suggest a 4/3 and bring your booties too. In the summer a swimsuit and a rash vest will do but we recommend you bring a spring/summer wetsuit as there can be a wind chill and for any early morning sessions.

Beginners: For people new to surfing or with very limited experience.
Intermediate/ Advanced: For surfers that have good experience (know how to paddle, take off, rules of priority etc), but wish to improve their technique and skills. Most of our classes take place between Praia da Areia Branca and Peniche.
